Come Out, My Dear

Come Out, My Dear

Come out from behind the curtain
I know you are back there.
I feel your presence,
Your strength, and your beauty.
I know you feel there is something to hide.
But I'm here to tell you that isn't true.

Everything that you are
- is bliss.
Everything that I am
- craves to see you,
- to see ALL of you.

Lean in... I'll whisper my secret...
When you come out entirely,
in your splendor and radiance,
then,
(only then)
can I be seen fully;
and THAT
is so divinely yummy for me.

We long for someone to see us for who we are, who we are divinely.  A precious gift we can give to another.  It is precious, because we can only fully see this part of another when we are present to this part of ourselves.  So, like moments of extreme self-love, they can be fleeting.

I know these are important moments, because of how I feel in them... a moment, when I stand in awe of another.  I feel "awe" - not just of what I witness, but in general.  Awe is an emotion that speaks of the divine to me.  We all know those moments when we stand in awe of a view in nature.  It's a moment when my own importance is irrelevant, when I am taken out of the world of mundane cares and transported into another realm, one of magic and mystery.

What prevents us from being in this space for each other?  Why are we able to do this in nature, but not for another human being?

If someone had stood in "awe" of those people who now perpetrate hatred and harm, would it have changed their life?

an even better question... Can I stand in awe of myself?
